iBuyFlowers is seeking a Senior UX Designer who will support our growing e-commerce platform, helping refine, optimize, and scale the user experience. You’ll be the bridge between conception and execution, working closely with IT, analysts, and stakeholders across the organization to create intuitive, data-driven designs that elevate the iBuyFlowers platform.

About iBuyFlowers: iBuyFlowers was founded in 2016 by Wilfred de Wit, a Dutch lily grower's son with deep roots in the floral  industry, is a passionate, growing online marketplace revolutionizing the flower industry. We are a B2B - wholesale flower provider empowering US customers to order the freshest quality flowers 24/7 directly  from over 100 global farms through our unique platform. By eliminating the middleman, we ensure that our flowers are not only farm-fresh but also competitively priced. As a start-up / scale-up, iBuyflowers is  an Agile business of 30-40 people operating globally; with clients in the US, a dedicated IT team in  Colombia, and an E-commerce team from The Netherlands.

What you'll be doing?

  • Concepting & Research:
    • Conduct thorough user and usability tests, translating data-driven feedback into actionable designs.
    • Develop flow charts, initial sketches, and lo-fi to hi-fi mockups based on user insights and stakeholder (PO, PM, Developers, Users) feedback.
    • Collaborate with the web analyst and other departments to ensure that design decisions are data-driven, user-centric, and aligned with the business goals of iBuyFlowers.
  • UX Focused Design:
    • Own the behavior and functionality of the application from a UX perspective, ensuring all flows are optimized for user satisfaction.
    • Reflect and iterate based on customer data and feedback, adapting designs to continuously improve usability.
    • Engage deeply with the technical aspects of design to create realistic and effective solutions
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Act as a a strong storyteller – conceptually and visually – presenting designs and their rationale
      to IT, stakeholders, and beyond.
    • Work closely with the IT team to ensure the seamless implementation of designs, participating in technical discussions to support the development process.
    • Serve as a proactive collaborator who elevates and refines existing ideas in pursuit of the bigger picture.
  • Prototyping & Iteration:
    • Design prototypes using Figma, Axure, and HTML that focus on flow and user interaction, without getting bogged down in overly specific design details.
    • Create high-functioning mockups, responding to customer feedback and iterating to achieve the optimal user experience. Creating the winning mock up is your fuel and your engine!
  •  E-commerce Expertise:
    • Apply your experience in e-commerce platforms to optimize and design for the specific needs of our customers.

What do you bring to the job?

  •  Experience & skills:
    • 5+ years of experience in UX/UI design with a strong emphasis on concepting and user research.
    • Proven experience in designing for web platforms and mobile apps, possessing a proven track record in launching applications (navigating specifications, validations and a/b testing) with a deep understanding of and interest for e-commerce platforms.
    • Strong expertise in Figma, Axure, HTML, and flowcharting tools.
    • Experience working in a start-up or scale-up, with a proactive mindset and the ability to balance creativity with functional constraints.
    • A humble, collaborative attitude with a functional, perfectionist approach to design. ● An iterative mindset, always reflecting on and improving your work based on data and feedback – creatively interpreting user thought processes, in order to think along with and for users to enhance their overall experience.
  • Listening, Adaptation, and Refinement
    • Excited by problem-solving and design challenges, with a keen eye for detail and a preference for visual over auditory communication.
    • Ability to balance creativity with practicality—neither too rigid nor overly experimental.
    • Excellent storytelling skills, both artistically and conceptually, with the ability to explain complex designs and processes clearly.
    • Strong collaboration skills, comfortable working with cross-functional teams, including IT, web analysts, product owners, and more.
